Polyblend caulk is used to seal the joints around ceramic tiles in a sink, tub or shower area. The substance is implemented when laying new tiles, or to fix an area where a tile is cracked, for example. Always keep your caulking gun in constant motion as you work, applying the caulk in a consistent amount, so leveling it out is easier.

Video of the Day

Step 1

Clean the tile surrounding the area to be caulked with water and mild soap. Allow the area to dry completely.

Step 2

Cut the tip off the caulking cartridge at a slight slant. However, place the cut a little farther down on the cartridge if you need a thicker line of caulk.

Step 3

Place the cartridge into the caulking gun.

Step 4

Press the tip of the cartridge into the joint you're filling, and use the gun to release the caulk as you move the gun along the joint.

Step 5

Wet your finger with water and use it to smooth out the caulk.

Step 6

Apply soap and water to a soft cloth, and wipe down any excess caulk before it has a chance to dry. Wait at least one full day before you expose the caulk to water.
